Where would you rather vacation? Iceland or Australia?
Well, Ray's not giving Rob a choice this week as he takes him down under with the 2020 dramedy RAMS, starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park, Event Horizon) and Michael Caton (The Castle, Packed to the Rafters). This film follows Colin (Neill) and Les (Caton), two estranged brothers who have both taken up the family tradition of raising one of the rarest breeds of sheep in the world. The plot thickens when Colin suspects that Les' recently award-winning ram might be infected with the deadly and infectious disease, OJD, throwing their valley community into chaos as the threat looms over their shared livelihoods.
Will Rob find the family dynamics of siblings pushed into separate corners by their legacy appealing? Or will he find it hard to view the government reaction to this outbreak as reasonable through a post-Covid lense? Tune in to find out!

On this week's episode of SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FILM, Rob recommends to Ray Peter Bogdanovich's (The Last Picture Show, Paper Moon) 1968 directorial debut TARGETS.
This taut thriller follows Bobby Thompson as he embarks on a mass shooting spree after seeming to suffer a mental break. Tangentially, aged actor Byron Orlok (the last US film performance of horror icon Boris Karloff) comes to the harsh realization that he is becoming irrelevant in an increasingly brutal world and announces his retirement. As Orlok wrestles with a final public appearance and the hounding of one more film by a desperate young director (played by Bogdanovich himself), his path unexpectedly careens towards Bobby's wake of violence in a shocking finale.
Will Boris Karloff's rich character work with Byron Orlok and Bobby's psychological break be enough to draw Ray in? Or will Bogdanovich's violent images and overt political messaging miss the mark? Tune in to find out!

For this week's episode of Say Hello to My Little Film Ray tries to fill a blind spot for Rob by recommending a feature from one of comedy's funniest voices, Albert Brooks. In his 1979 directorial debut Real Life, Albert Brooks crafts a biting send up of Cinema Verite or what we now commonly refer to as "reality TV".
Join us as we dissect the prescient nature of Real Life and connect the dots to the modern obsession with the genre, in which we hope to answer the question, can you truly film real life?
Will Rob's already established admiration for Albert Brooks find him loving this long-missed classic? Or will his deep held disdain for modern reality TV force him to throw Real Life onto the trash heap of history? Tune in to find out!

On this week's episode, Rob seeks to right a wrong when he learns the bombshell news that Ray has never before seen Andrew Nichols' 1997 Sci-Fi classic GATTACA.
In this detailed discussion on Gattaca, we scrutinize the societal implications of genetic engineering in a world where everyone is created to be perfect. Our conversation sheds light on themes such as fascism, genetic determinism, and the portrayal of a sanitized society as we journey into the realm of perfection and the struggle between nature and nurture.
Will the universal themes of perfection coupled with an unsung legacy in current sci-fi cinema be enough to sway Ray? Or will the film's quiet and meditative style leave him feeling cold? Tune in to find out!
